Second phase
11-14. June 2012. 16-20h
The Edtiorial of the national school-book makes a 4 day-long workshop in the Labor Gallery.
In the workshop a new „national school-book” is being created from history textbooks from abroad with collage-technique and only in one issue. The four day long editorial work in the Labor is open to the public, so visitors can look into and participate in the editrotal, translation and archiving processes or can even enrich our stereotype-collection about Hungary.
This edition, which is being created as an aim of the project is titled National School-Book, which proposes the collection of data about the history of Hungary from neighbouring, European and further countries’ history textbooks. The stories, they offer might be surprising to us and contradictory to each other, making it apparent, that the sories lectured and certified by different national comitees, speak openly about the historical memory, about stereotypes and about the relativity of objectiveness. The first introduction of the projekt was in March, 2011 within the frames of Gallery by night in the Stúdió Gallery, where six collection was published mainly from the neighbouring countries.
