Exhibition of László Csáki and Marcell Esterházy

Since 2000 the Studio Prize is won every year by SYAA members, who according to an independent and professional jury -adjured year by year to award the prize – produced especially outstanding achievements, and intensely influence the Hungarian scene of fine arts through their international successes and participations in group exhibitions. In 2008 by the decision of the jury of three (Barnabás Bencsik, the director of Ludwig Museum, Rita Kálmán, the college of ACAX and Dezső Szabó, artist) the Studio Prize is won divided by László Csáki and Marcell Esterházy.
László Csáki
He is fine artist and film director. He took his degree in 2002 on Video Department in the Visual Communication Chair at the Hungarian University of Applied Arts, where he also got DLA level. In 2001 he won the Gyula Derkovits scholarship. His artistic activity is medially extremely diversified. Today his ironic inlay-works and animated films augment private collections. He is extraordinarily well-known as animated film and shortcut director. His works (The ant and the cricket; Greyhound – project about the Hungarian greyhound; Wasps, goose and pear tree) won prizes on numerous Hungarian and international festivals.
Marcell Esterházy
Marcell Esterházy was born in 1977, after his graduation in Budapest he started to make photos under the direction of Lucien Hervé in Paris, then after his return, took his degree in 2003 on the Intermedia Department at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. He was studying two years in Marseille, where he had several exhibitions. In 2004 he was the surcharge winner of the Lucien and Rudolf Hervé Prize. In 2009 he won the Gyula Derkovits scholarship. In his works there are photos, videos and different installations as well. He participated in numerous group- and several solo exhibitions in Hungary. His first foreign solo exhibition opened in the Parisian Galerie Aline Vidal, in 2008. His works can be found in important private and public collections as well.
